250m network of segregated cycleways in urban areas

How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? Allows wider range of people to independently travel by bike, ebikes, mobility scooters, wheelchair, etc Connecting them to wide range of services. Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? Cross cutting issue impacts large areas of well be8ng.

Points

Bikes and ebikes ideal for the majority of journeys that people make as many journeys are under 3 miles. Protected paths encourage active travel. Especially for families and the infirm. Active travel has proven health benefits for the nation. Active and travel has unambiguous environmental benefits. A network of segregated urban cycle paths will reduce motor traffic, enable healthier life choices, provide a significantly safer space for active travel for all.

Bikes only need a small pathway, too much expense to create a road standard surface, i dont think they want that to be the barrier to having one
