Please tell us your views on the Bill and explain why it will affect you.: I think this is the right direction of travel for Scotland and we're lagging behind other parts of the UK. Marriage is a patriarchal, outdated structure and there must be another system where couples - particularly women - who don't want to support an institution that was designed to subjugate them and remove their rights - have legal protections within a relationship. I am in a long term partnership but would never marry. I would, though, enter a civil partnership, which would give me the financial protections to move my relationship forward to living together and having children.
