Essential legislation to remove inequality

Essential legislation to remove inequality

Please tell us your views on the Bill and explain why it will affect you.: I have been in a relationship for over 28 years. I am not interested in a wedding ceremony or any of the conventions associated with it. But I would like to be able to formalise my relationship and have the same benefits as other couples who choose to marry or enter into a civil partnership. It is iniquitous that I cannot enter into a civil partnership to do this because my partner is not the same gender as me. It is also unfair that we could have a civil partnership in other parts of the UK but cannot in Scotland. This legislation is essential to address the issue and is long over due. Scotland has led the rest of the UK on equalities and other ground breaking legislation and should act as quickly as practicable to right this wrong.
