We used Citizen Space to support the Education and Skills Committee hear from trainee and recently qualified teachers about their initial teaching education experience as part of an inquiry on recruiting and training new teachers. The online quantitative survey enabled over 650 teachers to pass on their views and experiences but the survey also enabled participants to indicate the additional ways they'd like to get involved in the work of the Committee.

Points

This led to an increase in formal written submissions, requests for focus groups and workshops and interest in engaging directly with members. The digital engagement process allowed people to engage in a small way and given the option take part in further engagement opportunities with the Committee in the future.
