You talk about meeting groups etc – but people aren’t engaged, so MSPs aren’t reaching majority of people? How to tackle this? - put myself in unfamiliar situations, not a natural extravert but got to be out and about in the region and do this - difference between Constituency MSP and Regional MSP – as a regional MSP for North East will never meet everyone - How to narrow down? E.g. becoming involved in other networks, identifying those opportunities. A problem not unique to Scottish Parliament, who has power to make decisions? - Why is SP and LAs the only level where decisions get made? Keep representative stuff but have decision-making authority below these levels. Quite often people who are experts are those who live and work in a place.
