You say it’s important to be out amongst your community, what happens if an MSP spends too much time in Holyrood? No two weeks looks the same, we do need to ask ourselves if we’re spending too much time in Edinburgh, there’s something around the culture of Holyrood that isn’t good for decision-making and for work-life balance. There’s no formal mechanism for people to ensure their MSP is in their local time in their constituency. Massive divide between MSPs and the public – we need a way forward for this. Committees go ‘out and about’ - but need to find other ways of doing that, and not going to places that shout the loudest.
