Create opportunities for people to use and share their lived experience to engage on issues that they care about. When identifying witnesses, ensure an even balance between academic and professional experts, and people with lived experience.
Some of these lived experiences can include quite traumatic events for people. So ensure staff are fully trained or aware of what risk assessments are required and what steps should be taken to support someone coming to give evidence to parliament.
