Funding for Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park

Funding for Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park

An annual payment of $1 million, indexed for inflation, be given to Parks Vic for the care and education programs for Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park.

Points

Extending care and education programs to include the entire Gippsland coast adjacent to the proposed wind farms is a worthy initiative to be considered. The Ninety Mile Beach Marine National Park is also important. The more knowledge that people have, the less fearful of change they become. Gippsland is proud of its coastal environment and would welcome showcasing it further. Secondary advantages include increase in local employment and economic benefits for local retail establishments.

It seems logical to support marine national parks.
