How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? Within my authority area there remains towns with poor facilities for sports and recreation including at the local Academy (Forres). Opportunities for uptake of recreational and sports facilities are therefore limited especially when it comes down to basics like 4G pitches and floodlights. Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? There are lots of local groups all meaning well and trying their best to secure funding for individual projects. However, I feel that we should have agreed central government funding and certain facilities as standard for towns across Scotland.
I would broaden this out to include cultural facilities in addition to recreational facilities. Such facilities help people interact and avoid loneliness.
