AIRBNB holiday lets and transient tourist communities.

AIRBNB holiday lets and transient tourist communities.

How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? Negative impact removing affordable housing options from rural communities and reducing community wellbeing by a high percentage of people "living" in the communities being transient tourists. Reduces viable local workforces in the community and becomes predominant transient seasonal staff and increasing hospitality industries now saturate the local community with low wages and long working hours with no room for alternative mainstream business development and essential services. Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? There will be no " community" left if the "transient tourist trade" is all that exists in the rural communities. No affordable housing, no permanent mainstream employment, no support to local resources and increasing negative impact on our beautiful landscapes/wildlife and community lifestyles. Surely this should be a primary focus of future work otherwise there will be no future as the community of Badenoch and Strathspey and other rural comunities will just become seasonal tourist villages
