How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? In today's world so many families are not a hetrosexual couple and 2 kids or more. Families comes in all shapes and sizes. From same sex couples to single parent families or grand parents looking after kids and many other combinations. It is important to appreciate that no one likes breakups or being pointed out. Acceptance as a family is important whatever the make of the family unit. It is socially ostracising and kids and adults can feel mental and emotional agony if not accepted as they are. Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? So many deals, offers, bookings, registrations do not take into account that a family is no longer one male, one female and 2 or more children. It is mostly expensive to book or buy things as 1 adult and children. When single parents need most help they are feeling more burdened. At least in Scotland we need to bring this rip off down especially for travel and holiday bookings. More family opportunities and support is needed for single and same gender families.
