How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? It would help child poverty by making sure ALL children are fed every day. Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? When children are fed they are more likely to be able to concentrate on their education which will have a positive impact on communities.
Parents should take care of their children. In leading countries such as Germany schools do not offer school meals. It’s the responsibility of parents to take care of this. We can’t put all responsibility on authorities. Parents make children and they should care for them. If they are not capable of doing so they should reconsider reproducing. That’s what child support money is for.
Local authorities should be investing in school kitchen estates, and should not have any opportunity to privatise, or move to frozen options. Investment should be made to ensure fresh meals with children involved in the planning and process of cooking aome meals in primary school in particular. This would encourage healthy eating habits and improve attainment and is absolutely necessary as their school meal may be their only meal in a day.
No option get it done.
