How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? There are many older people living in their own homes who only see their carers and many don’t have family visits. We should fund home visits for wellbeing needs as well as personal care and have a campaign for neighbours to become more involved. I think the community should be involving our elderly more and make sure they are being promoted in a positive way Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? More elderly people are staying in their own homes for longer but a lot are housebound and lonely. This saves money re nursing homes etc but society has changed and there isn’t the large families to support them. Our government should also be focusing on elderly wellbeing needs and promoting their involvement in the community.
