Geographical distances within each region necessitates Councillors travelling over 75 miles to travel from Stranraer to Dumfries to attend Council meetings. Better to have District Councils. 4 necessary for an area such as Dumfries & Galloway if the needs of rural communities are to get appropriate recognition as well urban areas

If residents feel empowered to form cohesive Social groups within the locality, neighbourhoods, then they will act together taking responsibility for common recreational grounds. sharing activities where they live, will solve situations which adversely cause illness brought about by poverty, loneliness, old age, disability, etc. Become involved in neighbourhood revival looking after parks and areas where people socialise.
