I think the current system regional local authorities is to big. Only 32 regional councils for the whole if Scotland. Geographical distances within each region necessitates Councillors travelling over 75 miles to travel from Stranraer to Dumfries to attend Council meetings. Better to have District Councils. 4 necessary for an area such as Dumfries & Galloway if the needs of rural communities are to get appropriate recognition as well urban areas
