How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? Fund oor cooncils properly and ensure that the monies aren't frittered away on woke projects. Cooncils actively need to do the things cooncils were set up to *do* ... re-open the closed public lavvies and maintain them 24/7/365, mend the roads, empty all the bins weekly, restore the dinner ladies to all schools ... proper cooncil duties. Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? Because these basic duties / functions are no longer being fulfilled on behalf of cooncil-tax payers! We pay OK ... now where are these services?
Often the local council is able to make decisions with more knowledge of their own communities than when decisions are made centrally.
Ther should be a yearly statement to see how the council spend money, not enough transparency Also a platform to discuss the subjects on the spend Not enough encouragement for people to engage in budget allocation discussions This could be in the form of a link on NAC site,
