How does this impact on Community Wellbeing? People can vote knowing they will get what they vote for, and politicians will need to bear real responsibility. Why should the Committee focus on this as part of their future work? Local politicians get away with saying and promising anything to get elected. If local politicians are legally obliged to deliver what they promise much more thought and time will need to be devoted to bringing forward policies which are affordable and workable. People deserves to be able to hold local politicians to account. Local elections every 4 years or so is not working for the electorate.
