Everyday day thousands of school children all over Scotland casually dump their plastic and other waste into the environment and local council litter pickers remove a fraction of it . Educate the children in sustainabilty including practical lessons on litter picking.

The specific suggestion is to educate children on sustainability , to stop treating the environment as a rubbish tip, take ownership of their local environment and improve it including getting out and removing the rubbish they have dumped. Climate wise recycling and reducing their rubbish should reduce energy consumption plus addressing the wider environmental impact of plastic pollution Requires education and enforcement.
