replace all single glazed windows

replace all single glazed windows

What change do you want to make now to address the climate change crisis? Remove plannng regulations that restrict people from upgrading single glazed sash n case windows to double glazing or better. Minimise conservation zone rules that are forcing many homes to be very energy inefficient. Provide incentives for landlords to replace such windows. ESP in traditional flats in cities and towns. What do you need to make this change? Scottish Government to replace dated planning and conservation rules to allow the glazing sector to make homes energy efficient.

Its not actually cost effective. Other forms of insulation, including thick curtains, offer as much energy savings for a fraction of the price. Only do it once every other kind of insulation has been done and then only if the windows actually need replacement. Also, vinyl window frames are problematic from an environmental perspective.

Good idea, cant see any reason to defend this outdated policy given current state of climate
