What change do you want to make now to address the climate change crisis? Legislate to ensure that communities can setup and run repair hubs in their local area with access to council recycling centres and goods depositors there before being crushed. Encourage councils to free up unused buildings to become workshops for making and repairing goods from electronics, textiles, timber, metal, etc. Include within that, support for tool libraries and a shift to a culture of sharing resources. What do you need to make this change? Councils to properly support formation of hubs, to provide suitable space for free or min rent to be able to run such hubs, and for government to finance the costs of operating such a service/enterprise in early stages.
This already is in place with our local council recycle centres. Just supply a portal cabin and then you have your hub. This reducing transport issues as well and paid staff on hand.
