The amount of electricity used by devices on standby is now tiny to the point of being irrelevant. I cant see this making a difference, and would be impossible to police anyway.

it's safer. Also, I see my smart meter uses 10p when I'm asleep. Is that just the fridge? Whatever it is I assume I'm paying for it. You multiple that across Scotland. I hope I'm wrong.
