I just dont want to cycle. Taking away road space to give to cyclists would reduce my quality of life

yeah, that'd be nice if there was infrastructure in place that allows people to actually make a realistic choice between using polluting ways of going to work or using ways that benefit their health and the environment.
Cycling to work allows people to fit exercise into their day. It’s also environmentally friendly.
It's simple in that it points out the superior infrastructure in The Netherlands, where I lived for 5 years and many people have seen it and like it. I think there are a lot of aspiring cyclists who are put off by attempting to cycle on city roads. City roads are both frightening and physically difficult due to potholes. If you have poor fitness before you start cycling, city roads will put you off quickly.
