Orkney Youth Forum - Living on an island even during normal times will restrict what industries young people can gain experience in but normally there would be the option to travel in order to take up internships/placements or to find work and gain experience. Clearly the Pandemic has restricted this opportunity for young people to travel in order to gain much needed experience.
Expect further difficulties accessing work experience at end of furlough scheme and businesses possibly making redundancies. Young people starting out will be at further disadvantage
