As the world of work may change to increase the number of people working from home there could be an opportunity to use spaces in other ways that could benefit society. For example - supporting the eradication of homelessness.

If we look at this strategy in combination of non-granting of planning permission for out-of-town shopping centres we could have a joined-up approach that looks to: cut car use / carbon emissions; reinvigorate town/city centres; encourage small traders & diversity of shop thereby encouraging trades and tourism; maintain green belts; address homelessness;
