Support people who cannot afford to self isolate

Support people who cannot afford to self isolate

People are not self isolating because they cannot afford to stay at home. The Scottish Government should do more to support people to comply.

Points

Whilst in theory I would agree with this, I am not sure how this would be implemented and not open to abuse. Even if we give money to people how do we ensure they stay home anyway - will this be policed. I am concered that this will be open to abuse and be unworkable. I am happy to hear how this would work in practice and hence vote for it.

I think people who need to isolate should be paid as normal by their employer, and the employer recoups the money from government funds. There should be no nominal grant given - people's living expenses don't drop because they have to isolate.
