By focussing solely on the health impact we risk causing other damage to society/business. Issue of hospitality venues having to close: impact on health has to be balanced with other issues such as jobs and revenues for business. Gov need to look more at young than old people. There is nothing for young people to go and places to socialise. Unintended consequences - be explicit about the balance of those harms
If the focus becomes more economic we run the risk of losing the fight against the pandemic. Some measures such as the "eat out" campaign were barely hidden agendas to get people to spend, but at the same time, go out. Society changes and always will, and the economy and requirements will also change to adapt - e.g. farmers diversifying after the slaughter of their animals due to virus.
