Media Literacy and Fake News

Media Literacy and Fake News

Levers for tackling public health communications exacerbated by the pandemic. Need to teach people to be able to differentiate between fake news and real news. The older generation are unsure about this, and how to access the truth, how to fight the fake news? Need to support others to get online. Platforms are always changing. It needs to be built into curriculum this could be used to teach people how to search out a variety of sources, understand how algorithms affect content. It is an endless task to embed literacy into school systems and support people to get online. This should be the role of libraries. People are so reliant on data it is a fundamental human right for everyone to have access to this.
