I think reinforcing the social distancing message is important, but it shouldn't be an either / or thing with social distancing and mask-wearing; both are required.
I agree with Malcolm here. There should be a fixed distance of 2m. The changes to that did a lot of damage. Both masks and 2m imperative to get across. Most people have become accustomed to this and feel uncomfortable if distance nit respected.
