NHS to make better use of private healthcare

Earlier in the pandemic the Scottish Government spoke about using private healthcare, and other NHS facilities in Scotland to address the increasing backlog for diagnostics and elective surgery. NHS Louisa Joran does not appear to have been used to its full advantage- a national conversation is needed with people and staff, building on the ideas such as early diagnostic centers, as to how far they are willing to travel, how they can be supported to access care as close to home as possible. The elective treatments centers won't be ready as quickly as anticipated so there needs to be reassurance about interim services informed by service users, staff and community feedback.
