Four day working week

Four day working week

Workers in Scotland and the UK have some of the longest hours in Europe. But we're not more productive. We're overworked, underpaid, stressed and burnt out. A four day working week would improve the health and wellbeing of workers while also reducing unemployment and boosting our economy. Introduce a 4 day working week as the default working pattern. Existing trials (for example in Iceland) have shown that it maintains or increases work productivity and improves life satisfaction. More free time means more opportunities to be involved in our communities, more time in which we can connect with others, and a happier and fairer society.
