All our lives are touched by democracy, and that's a beautiful thing. Scotland needs to embrace democracy further, by enshrining into constitution the ability for workers to raise their own democratic powers within their workplace. Workers should be given a right of first refusal to buy out their employer and establish a worker-owned, democratically led cooperative in the event that a buy-out, liquidation, or similar event occurs, and especially if the enterprise is in a poor financial state. Furthermore, a state bank should be established in order to lend capital to workers in order to buy out stakeholders - further promoting and encouraging a transition to a more democratic and resilient economy.
