1m unpaid carers stepped up to provide more care than ever when public services withdrew during this Covid crisis. Many support services remain shut and the additional pressure on unpaid carers comes with signifcant negative impact/costs which have barely been acknowledged. Govt needs to do this and respond by working with us to create carer specific recovery priorities and ensure that we are at the heart of any Covid recovery work, and that immediate priorities for change happen alongside the Feeley reforms.
