Social Housing

Social Housing

At least 20% of all new build developments should be reserved for social housing. Councils should be able to buy the houses they want off plan before the development is released, the homes chosen should be no different from the other homes in the area and the selection should reflect the available stock in the area. The chosen houses should not be grouped together nor segregated in any way. Full market rent should be charged for the property, there is nothing wrong with the council making profit from buy to let if it can be used to reduce the tax burden for it's citizens.
