We should charge rent for the use of Faslane to store nuclear weapons and serve as a base for Trident submarines, starting at £2bn/year (1% of the cost of replacing Trident), and raise it by at least 20% every year. This money should be set aside as a sovereign wealth fund, because eventually the cost of moving nuclear weapons out of Scotland will be less than continuing to pay us rent. So we get rid of nuclear weapons after a few years, and get billions out of the countries who keep them in Scotland while they work out how/where to move them.
