Rent Caps and Tenant's Rights

Rent Caps and Tenant's Rights

Many landlords and letting agencies are able to take advantage of tenants and overcharge for rent, behave in threatening and discriminatory ways, and attempt to violate laws to protect renters. Many renters are forced to move every few years as the rent increases rapidly during their tenancy. This is disruptive and unfair to people who are unable to purchase property and have no choice but to pay someone else's mortgage and put up with whatever bad circumstances they are given. The government must step in to protect the rights of renters and ensure all can afford housing and are not fleeced by agencies for profit.
