Crack down on Transphobia

Crack down on Transphobia

Between 2014 and 2020, hate crimes decreased overall by 19%, but those against trans people doubled - and still an estimated 70% of hate crime towards trans people goes unreported. Transphobia is normalised in today’s society, and has become accepted under the guise of ‘philosophical debate’ or exclusionary forms of ‘feminism’. This needs to be stopped. Trans people have the same rights and protections as those with disabilities, those of marginalised races, religions, sexual orientations... and yet the kind of prejudice accepted against trans people would not for one second be accepted against these other groups. It’s time to crack down on the spreading and enabling of transphobia.
