Gender and Sex in Education

Gender and Sex in Education

I am concerned about the conflation of sex and gender within several aspects of public life in Scotland. I am uncomfortable with the idea that single sex spaces will become meaningless after changes to the GRA come into place. My biggest concern relates to how we discuss gender ideology with children in schools. Legitimising this set of beliefs, reinforces sex stereotypes whilst denying biological reality. I don’t think a child’s interests and preferences should be used to determine their ‘gender’. I’m concerned about my child being told e.g that some boys have vaginas as I do not believe this to be true.
