escalating domestic abuse

escalating domestic abuse

There should be a national register for those convicted of domestic abuse, minimum jail time, and tougher custodial sentences for repeat offenders. All police officers should be trained to spot escalating domestic abuse and their national IT systems should automatically record and flag repeat offending. Around 2 women in the uk are killed every week by their current or former partner and that often occurs as part of a pattern of escalating abuse. More must be done to address this epidemic of violence against women.
