Ending North Sea Drilling

Ending North Sea Drilling

Ahead of COP26 we must follow in the footsteps of other European countries and scale down our fossil fuel production, especially in the North Sea. We urgently need to move away from North Sea oil drilling and provide a just transition for all the workers the sector employs. We can not afford to keep drilling for oil and burning fossil fuels when we are missing so many of our climate targets. End subsidies and tax breaks for fossil fuel industries, stop the allocation of oil exploration permits and where possible, revoke proposed permits. This will be a massive help in scaling down the industry.
