The use of Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) orders during the coronavirus pandemic should be investigated. Reports that older and disabled patients were issued with DNACPR forms without proper discussion or consultation are concerning and could be in breach of their human rights. The Scottish Parliament should scrutinise the use of DNACPR during the pandemic to investigate the scale of this potentially ableist and ageist practice and why it came about.
