Better chances for blind and partially sighted young people

Blind and partially sighted pupils face an attainment gap in education. The Education, Children and Young People Committee to consider the report and recommendations in “Support for Learning: All our Children and All their Potential” and what steps can be taken to increase the number of specialist teachers in mainstream schools, and improve access to specialist support for children and young people with visual impairments. The Education, Children and Young People Committee to consider what transition arrangements are in place for young people with complex needs, including sight loss, across each local authority and make recommendations to ensure there are positive destinations for all young people.
