Ban Disposable Barbeques & Limit Campfires

Ban Disposable Barbeques & Limit Campfires

Disposable barbeques and open fires are having a detrimental effect on rural areas. The remains of campfires and scorched land are evident all over the Highlands and Islands and around the NC 500 route. In some cases, disposable barbeques have been left unextinguished, causing damage to bins and risking wildfire and injury. Single use items such as disposable barbeques are damaging the environment, and recovery from the damage left by campfires will be lengthy. Open fires could be allowed only under certain restrictions and on designated sites.
