Scotland has an amazing history and culture, including many languages. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the younger generations are in the most part unaware of their heritage and culture because it has either not been taught to them at school or previous recent generations have failed to pass down the stories, music, language and culture of our ancestors. I would like to to see scottish history being taught in school, a return of scottish country dancing to the school curriculum and families being actively encouraged to tell the stories of their ancestors. It has been 300 years since the Union and the slow demise of the Highland way of living, but it has also been around 200 since the ability to practice our way of life and acknowledge our history and culture was given back to us. Please lets hold on to this for the future of Scotland and our generations yet to come.
