We are now living in a digital age and should be able to participate in our democracy digitally if we choose to. Being able to vote then check your vote was verified and counted for the correct candidate/party would build public trust in the voting system and provide more transparency. Extending this to allow constituents to vote on individual parliamentary issues rather than just elections would encourage members of parliament to work for their constituencies and not just their parties. Everyone receives a national insurance number when they turn 16 which is the voting age. This could be a method of identification for those who wish to participate digitally. Photo from GCN.
