New plans set out by the UK government to tackle obesity are going to have the biggest impact on people with eating disorders. Evidence has shown that bringing in these measures such as introducing calorie counts on all cafe menus will have very little impact on national obesity rates, how ever can have a detrimental effect to people with eating disorders. More needs to be done to ensure the voices of people with eating disorders are listened to in regards with any anti obesity campaign, and make any future campaigns promote a healthy body image.
