Please support training of specialist nurses with funding (as has been done for District Nurses and Practice Nurses). Island specialist nurses currently can't access funding to maintain and improve knowledge. Personally pay for our own membership to associations that help us maintain competence. Conferences were great during covid as most provided ability to join online but most have quickly returned to face to face. We can't affford to personally pay for flights, fees and accommodation. Sick of the sound of my own voice pleading for online joining options. Please help Boards with succession planning for fragile specialist services. MCNs were good idea but ultimately folded due to management not seeing them as a priority. National level MCNs for specialist services would help drive improvements and spread best practice
