Highland Weighting Allowance

Highland Weighting Allowance

Living in the Highlands is expensive. Having limited or no access to large supermarkets means food bills are significantly higher. Limited access to fuel options often means heating homes is higher. Poor quality housing often means poorly insulated houses requiring higher use of high cost energy to keep a house warm. Access to poor quality and expensive transport adds significantly to all costs and limits access to health care. London has a weighting allowance, could we consider a Highland Weighting Allowance, particularly for those on benefits.
