We need to accelerate the development of remote medicine technology - in this increasingly sophisticated world of medicine, it is the only way that people in remote areas will be able to access the standard of care we would all like to see. I genuinely thought that by now we would see much more interaction with remote consultants and the likes through hands-on operations conducted by nurses or even robots being driven remotely with the consultant or surgeon getting the exact same feedback through gloves and monitors as if he were physically touching the patient instead of sitting at a desk 1000 miles away.
