Does it not make sense to give care workers a decent pay and so help people to be discharged from hospital and free up beds? Two of my family are in care work, one with the council and one in a private company and neither can get vacancies filled or expand their services because people can get paid more working in a supermarket. This is abysmal! People are unable to get care packages or places in day care centres where they can be helped so much all because wages for this much needed service are so low.
