Due to the nature of rural and island areas, local care will not always be available and travel to receive the necessary health care may be needed. The committee should look at how technology and digital solutions can be used appropriately to deliver healthcare, and whether additional funding or other resources are needed to enable its wider use in these areas. Digital tools should also be developed further to inform and support self care.
But this should not be forced upon those who do not want, or feel comfortable with it, and their access to services should not be hampered by the necessary access to alternatives.
