To cover the whole of the scottish borders CAHMS is a far place to travel to with children for assessment. The waiting list needs looked at as well. There are children left to suffer whilst waiting to be seen as there is no other support for children with additional needs. A better more central CAHMS service (even an additional one) would be welcomed as the borders is a large area for one unit in selkirk to be able to cover

Rural mental health for all ages needs to tackled head on. We lose a person a week in a rural livelihood to suicide. Govt must be at the front of tackling this, engaging all relevant organisations in order to inform policy and planning.
